fan comes on when when i turn on my ignition

how do you know when your computer is bad?...i've been having trouble with my car sputtering and shutting off on me...i changed my maf and my throttle body...i checked my distributor cap and there is no oil in it...i only have this problem when the fan comes on....i even changed my coolent temperature sensor...i had it diagnosed and the machine said no communication...i dont really want to spend money on a new ecm if i dont have to....can some 1 offer some help or advice....i would appreciate it.

is your a/c turned on?

no my a/c is off...i actually dont have an a/c...i took the plug out from the ecm and waited a few seconds and plugged it in back...and now the car runs excellent...do you think the ecm is going bad...or did it jus needed to be reset?
