Can you keep playing after you finish the main quest (by that I mean the story quest chain)? Or is it like Oblivion where you can do the main quest now, later, or never and regardless keep playing forever?

I just want to make sure I don't FINISH the game before I'm done.

As of now finishing the main quest will end the game, some of the new DLC is going to allow you to keep going. What main quest are you on I can tell you how close you are to the point of no return.

I actually just bought it yesterday. Only a couple steps in the main questline and level 4 or 5. So I have a long way to go. I'm just trying to decide what quests to give priority to right now. In Oblivion, I usually do a guild quest, then the main quest, then everything else. Looks like that won't work so well here.

the only thing i dont like about fallout3, is you can only get to level 20. Seems you cant make an uber powerful character. Im not done with all the quests yet. Now im trying to find all the bobbleheads to max my stats as much as i can.

I'm pretty sure you mean fallout has a lvl 20 cap. Not oblivion

Unfortunately, Fallout 3 has much less content than Oblivion. I did every quest, found all the leet loot, and killed everything else within 55 hours.

It took me over 120 hours in oblivion to complete all quests, side quests, close almost every gate, etc...

Howver, I want to play fallout 3 again but with a different style... Wasn't able to play oblivion twice, although Oblivion my be my favorite game ever.Played oblivion on PC, might buy it for Xbox and do it agian.

Best advice to Fallout 3 players is to save often. I was really upset that this game had an ending. Too bad it won't go on forever like oblivion.

I finished the game being a good guy, now I am finishing the game with a bad guy. It's funny how people react to you when you are evil.

for xbox players-create a save file when you are level 7,13 and 19. This way you don't have to play the game through again to get all the achievments.

There is a mod you can download that will continue the game after you input the code. It's kind of half-baked as the ending sequence doesn't play (you just input the code and the doors open) and you are just wandering around the wasteland with the main quest still there. But it works.

That's okay. Fallout 3's ending SUCKED *** anyway. Amazingly disappointing. Ultra lame. Would have been more tolerable if you could keep playing afterward. But now, not only does the ending suck, but it's "game over," too. Smooooooth, Bethesda.

I'm definitely going to check out this mod. Thanks, man.
