I was just reviewing this tire last night. just google falken fk 452 review and you'll get some good feedback. They were really rated high. Looks like a great buy for the price. I know everyone said the first couple of hundred miles they were really slippery until they wore in a bit. that's normal for most tires i think. i'm gonna pick up some 20's soon for my M and will probably go with these. good luck.saeedakobiakov wrote:Hello ,any experience with falken fk 452 ? $157 for 275 40 18\Thanks,Caug
7mm = .276 inches.276 inches = 8.8/32"They started at 11/32 which = .344 inchesjbillion wrote:Wow 42K miles is a nice life for a tire. I have had my Yokohama AVID W4S for 15K miles and they are all down to 7mm tread.
Yeah, the OEM Goodyear RSA will last a long time ... too long, IMHO!EcstaSPT wrote:The previous owner of the 06 45 I just bought still had the OEMs at 42k and were even with the wear bars. I had no idea they could last that long now matter how it was driven. Looks like it was babied
Always mention what "kind" of Falken tire you are running. It's like saying I have a slow Chevy. Cobalt you have a case. ZR1 Corvette you don't have a case. Even tires with the same name and size can change when they do a newer version. Like load rating changing on the same type of tire.gsmollin wrote:I had a set of Falken tires on my I30, which were not low-profile tires. I did not like them, because their sidewalls were too flexible. I always thought it was a low-profile design in a moderate-profile tire, which is not a good tire. I replaced them with the Yokahama Avids, which were much better.
The M has fairly low profile tires, so the Falken may be a good choice, although personally I would have a problem buying them again.
I bought the Falkens at the behest of my tire dealer. He told me they were rated tops by Consumer Reports. I never did know what "kind" of Falken tires they were, except they were the OEM profile, and had an H speed rating, and cost only $78 ea. I got what I paid for. Tire pressure I remember. The I30 recommended pressure is 30 psi. I had the Falkens up to 39 psi before they were cornering even half decently. Yes, the ride became harsh at 39 psi, although gas mileage improved too.07sportm35 wrote:

All manufacturers have so-so to good tires. The name alone does not mean much. Lets do apples to apples here. And lastly, always try to up the PSI when you feel the sidewalls are too soft. If the ride quality becomes harsh and they still feel soft, then you have a case.
