I think it was a rhetorical question. He's probably running stretched tires.

Yup, stretched tires + new rims + curb = you lose.

I did the same to mine .

thats one reason why I think stretched tires are dumb. Ill stick with my es100's fit properly with the thick wall thank you. I could drive along a curb and not damage my rims.

my tire size is 215/45/17. i dont konw if they are "stretched" tires, but the rear does look pretty dinky when you look at the tires.and yeah i think ill be going for 225's next time in the rear...my question was, does ziex 512 have have side walls?

??? In that case...

Yes, they do have sidewalls, as w/ all tires. If you are trying to get sidewalls that "bulge" out and protect the rim, they you need to get a fatter tire.

I'm guessin you are running 17x7, which 215 is just fine. a 225 will give you a slight bulge.

he may be refering to a sidewall protector, the extra lip by the bead on the tire.

"This tire offers a smooth, quiet and comfortable ride along with an improved rim protection ridge to protect your custom rims."

They have a hard lip that sticks out a bit. If you really **** up, it's not going to help. It's also not going to help if your tires are stretched (duh).

512 in 16+ has the rim protector. I have 512 in 15 and they do not have a lip, but on 6" factoriesit is OK as my tires do bulge a little. I run 195/60 front and 215/60 rear.
