I'm looking into grabbing two new tires for my car, size 215/45R17.

I have a pair of Avons that are still very new set up for one axel. For my other two I was planning on getting a pair of Falken ST-115s ( and probably going all 3 eventually). I've seen plenty of reviews for the ziex FK models but none for the ST-115s. Ideally thats what I'm looking at is the STs. Has anyone had any experience with them? They're going to be for daily driving mostly and see infrequent track use. The only thing I've been able to gather is that Greg either has or has had them, and likes them. I guess the main reason I'm asking is in case anybody has any warnings or reasons not to get them.

ST115s are the greatest street tire known to man. Anyone who disagrees is just grumpy that their 800$ Michelins suck nuts

They wear hard, they don't get greasy, they grip hard, stiffish sidewall and good grip in the rain. I've had severe toe out problems due to one thing or another for about 2 drift events and 4000 miles, even then these things still lasted 10K

They are however, being replaced by the FK452... Which is part of the reason my next tire will probably be the Bridgestone RE01R.

I agree with McRusselPants wholeheartedly. They are THE best reasonably priced tire EVER. Period. End of story. End of thread. Go buy, NOW!

Sad to see them go though, still have yet to try the 452, that'll be my next set.

St115's are my favorite tire so far. They are cheap and grip nicely. I have had them for 1,000 miles on the street and two track days and have no complains whatsover so far. you won't be dissapointed

If I am unable to get the 115s, I'll see if I can get some of the 452s so I can throw a review out there for'em. They are on the market now right?

Are the sidewalls as stiff as you guys claim? I'm used to Bridgestones and those are notoriously stiff as well. Bstones are also insane in the rain. I was thinking of getting RE750's or another set of RE950's for my SSR's, but if these Falken's are as good as you guys say then i'll get them. Because I'd like to save some money for a plane ticket. The tread doesn't make them look like summer tires. Or are they high perf a/s?
