I want to purchase a set of Falken Hanabi 17x7.5 w/a 32 offset. I'm running the D2's and want to know if this will work. I played with the offset calculator and still couldn't decide if i thought it would work.

I'm trying to avoid having FN01RC's like everyone else. Which is why i would like to get these.

I would like to run either 215/45/17 or 225/45/17 for tires, since that should be pertinant info as well.

Thanx in advance

it;'ll be close, i run a 30mm offset in a 7.5" and it will clear most anything, but with some coilovers(TEIN HE) they may not, beause their damper body is larger than others.

it *should* be fine... run a 215-45-17 it ought to clear...-chet

they don't make any better offsets?

it shouldn't need anymore than a couple mm worth of spacer to clear if absolutely necessary.

they only make 2 in 4 lug, or 5 for that matter, and they're 32 and 42 respectively.I have the cash and want to order, but i'm a little leery. I don't want to go through the hassle and have them not fit.

i guess i can just get them and order spacers if absolutely necessary, but i was trying to avoid using those dumb things as much as possible.

as much as i hate to admit it, i'm realizing someone is going to have to guniea pig it in order to see if it works. (i was hoping it wasn't me though=)

its a bit closer to the strut than a 7" 38mm, and the 38mm I believe I said was fine for an s14(they have more inner clearance than s13's) unfortunately wheny yuo're cutting things that closely, someones gotta guinea pig it(that'd be you..)

try it rim(no tire) first and see how much room you've got for tire...if its nearly none, go with a 215-45 or 40, if you got some room, use the 225-45/

From this I see that there might be clearence issues with coilovers what about with structs using a 215/45R17?

whaaa?

speak english man! clearance depends on a few things1. wheel width2. tire width3. wheel offset4. IF you have coilovers, and if you do:4a. coilover body diameter5.) chassis S13 or S14...(s13 has less clearance)

edit: you're very welcome for the answers. keep asking, and dont be a smacktard!(not that you are..just dont start!)

A few more details:

The same wheel and tire combo that this thread was started for.

17x7.5 with a +32 offset

Will a 215/45R17 have any clearence issue with a stock supension setup on an S13?

Thanks, might go with a 205/45 or a 205/40 instead just to make sure there is at least a little more room. Only about a 2-5% diffence on the speedo.

i wound up getting 17x8 FN01R-C's in 35mm and it cleared my D2 Coilovers. I can fit my finger tip between the tire and the coilovers up front. i thought for sure i would have to get spacers, but i don't have any rubbing. I drove around pretty hard and came back and check, no sign at all.=) Made my day. Now if i hadn't had to wait two months and a lot of hassle to get them.=) BTW i'm running 215/45 up front w/ 245/40 rear.

Thanks for the input guys. I measured again I think it will fit also, but it would be very tight.

Currently:Between the sidewall of my tire(205/60) and the strut I have ~19 mm of clearance. Between the wheel and strut I have more than 19mm of clearance. According to the offset calculator I'll have 11 mm less between the wheel and the strut which will give at least 8 mm of clearance, no problem there.

For the tire: Since the wheel moves in 11mm that means the tire also moves in that much, which leaves 8mm. Since a 215 is 10mm wider than the 205 that should leave 3mm of clearance. According the tire size calculator on the meat site a 215/45R17 in 1/10 of an inch shorter than a 205/60R15 so no problems of clearance between tire and spring perch on the strut.

I'm just not sure if I am comfortable with just 3mm of room.

Thanks again for the input guys. Please ignore the math above, I shouldn't be allowed to think on Sunday.
