:bs: Yea these are knockoffs. there is supposed to be a tag on the side of the seat i believe that states its authenticity. the auction says Bride of Taiwan!!!! Not Japan!!! I wouldnt buy em. I didnt even see a tag anywhere on them. Real Bride seats will have a tag that states its the real deal.

Lol. Well they look decent and if your just going for looks and have a tight budget then I say go for it. Anyone that knows BRIDE japan will know they are fakes though the material is different and the upulstry is slightly sloppy.

do NOT buy fake brides. not because their knock offs. but because they have the Bride logo. These companies are legitimately ripping off the real Bride of Japan. Buying those seats is only going to support them. If your looking for cheap knock off seats go with f1spec. No fake logos or tags. But they have the same shape and everything. heres a link

order through Ming on s2ki and you get alot better price. I got my type 5's for like $350 shipped.

Fake Bride's even have the NAPAC stickers and tags.

Those are indeed fake. I have the same seat, I love it. But I'm going to look into getting a new seat when I can afford one. For the time being, this one does it's job, it holds me in place.

Aerodesign also has some nice Bride knockoffs. I believe these are the seats Sonic Motor used in their bucket seats on a budget group buys.

Honestly, I don't know how I feel about that. Yeah, it's not right to do that, but is it right for Bride to charge so much money for their seats? The only difference between their seats and the ones made by Aerodesign is really the FIA certification. Even though that's expensive, their profit margins must still be huge.

+1 for F1Spec. Perfect fit, super low with custom brackets. Feels way better than any other seat I've sat in (Sparco, Recaro, Memoryfab).

haha so funny. point is i have nothing against knock offs. which i clearly stated in my first post. its life. someone comes up with a design and everyone else copies it. putting someone elses name on your product is what i dont like.

I'm not sure about the international laws and how Taiwan does this sort of thing, but here's a quote directly from Tees-USA, "PLEASE BEWARE OF IMITATION BRIDE SEATS MADE IN SUEDE/ALCANTARA & CLOTH FABRIC". http://tees-usa.com/news.html It tends to lean toward there being a lot more than just quality of stitch and fabric too. But legally I would imagine, any and all dealers of Bride of "Taiwan" must disclose that they are not made in Japan.

On a lighter note ... FolkertSX, you're not much of a generic prescription guy I take it? Store brands?? ;) Eh anyway, for your future name calling ventures ...

Iirc, Bride Japan and Bride Taiwan are 2 different companies. So technically, neither are fake?
