okay so the v8 swap has begun in earnest, i will try an take pictures an stuff as it goes...

it took a while to really get started, about 14 grand in parts so far lol...

I've never done one of these threads so this is just gonna be a hodgepodge of random words and stuff and if you have any questions i'l try to answer...

its a rebuilt 6.0L LQ9 from an Escalade, paired with a T56 from an SS Camaro, putting in cams, ecu, and intake mani with lower clearance so my hood will close lol, other stuffs too

Current status is the New engine on a stand, and the old engine ripped outta her lol, the picture of the engine shows the new oil pan that came with the mounting kit i got from cxracing

No kidding... :dblthumb:

As we all know how much extra space there is with the 3.0 shoe-horned in there, a 6.0 would definitely be quite a sight. Please share as you progress.

looking for a corvette intake because the Escalade one does not allow the hood to close lol, ecu and wiring harness arrived, problem with the t-56 tranny from the camaro that i had bought so ended up with one from a 2006 CTS-V, LOTS of shoehorning was required to get the engine in

It's hilarious to me that that engine bay looks more free to work in than with the VG lmao

OK, thanks.

I am not blaming or accusing anyone of anything.

We had a few folks down here get their CTS-Vs stolen and stripped in the last couple weeks, thought you may have helped with a lead if it was from down here.

Ok so the v mount radiator from cxracing didn't quite fit so gotta move the engine back just a touch. Going with 18x10.5 Volk te37 wheels, cutout valves are ordered for the exhaust too

Currently is having new drivers side headers fabbed, the swap kit we received from cxracing included headers designed for a LHD 300zx, so they are in the way of my RHD steering rod. We pinched and bent them a bit so it was driveable, but was really not that great. Anyways the car is waiting in line at that guys shop currently, will be ready for a dyno tune soon after, and I'll weigh it on the truck scale at my work yard for exact numbers there too

Okay, so stock ls2 in the 300zx makes 343 whp and 354 lb/ft torque, (supposed to make 400 at the crank so that adds up). weighs 3,320 lbs. Runs beautifully, put 2500km on it so far, and only issue that came up was the starter needing to be upgraded. It is loud as $%!@ when the exhaust cutouts are opened up and quiet as a cat when they are closed (unless the sub is bumping!). Total costs so far including the car - $35,000ish
In the near future, cams, supercharger, etc, going for 500whp.
