Hi everyone ,

After 20 miles of driving with headlights and heater ON ( 5:00 AM , around82 miles to work from Stockton ), suddenly RPM gauge drops to zero , while driiving at 75 mph .

Change lanes and pull over , did tried to start again and again ,engine cranks but car wont start , Have to call AAA , tow back home call the boss .

Pull out one spark plug and tried to start , did not see any spark

Please help need the car for work.

thanks

sounds like the PTU (Power Transistor Unit) it's located on the front of the passanger side cam cover, it's got all kinds of wires hard to miss, and a typical part that ewars out after 10-15 years

checked with old owner ,he replaced PTU ,in 2004 , so only 2 years ?I was thinking no current goes to PTU at all ,removed steering cover andfound electrical part of ignition key loose , checked the soldered terminalslooks good but its out on one side .I use rubber gloves and press all terminalsbehind ignition key, then started..... it runs . As soon as I released my fingerscar died/I think the contact inside that ignition key was toasted ! I ordered parts on internet , will received in three dayswill update
