Lately I noticed that when I press on the brake pedal and the start button at the same that the steering wheel moves down and the seat moves forward but the engine does not start. On the second attempt it starts. Any ideas?

Yes, check the battery in the fob, next thing you won't be able to unlock the car and then it won't start at all.

Yep, FOB battery. Mine was doing this too before I swapped the battery from my spare into my daily FOB. Need to get one for the spare now.

The failure to start is not due to low battery, the car is less than a year old. Checked both keys and battery voltage was OK. Batteries in keys are supposed to last for years. In my Maxima & BMW the batteries were OK after 4 years. If my memory serves me right the car will give you an indication on the instrument panel if the battery voltage is low.

it will indicate low key battery on the display, you're right. However, I had mine tested at Batteries+ store and it showed it being ok. I have replaced it regardless and the no start/no opening door issues went away.
The low car battery could also be the culprit of the no start, so both should be investigated. Start with the fob replacement since it's just a few $$ and if that doesn't solve it, then look into the car battery.

good luck!

This happens to me only when I don't completely press the brake all the way to ground. If I half a** it, only the lights and what not come on. Give it a shot.
