The left and right rear hatch torsion bars failed last week. The hourly rate to replace them is 70.00 but the part cost is, gulp, $130 ea plus another $12.00 X2 for the lower mounting nuts which they say must be replaced each time you replace the torsion supports. Anyone elese had this experience?

we have the same problem and it is just as costly. the repair guy at our the dealership says that they just pop in and out and that usually only one goes bad. Ask the repair people at the dealership if they can be self installed and get instructions.

I had this happen to my '08 Armada, fortunately it is under warranty.
