So I took my car in to get tested today since today was the last day before the late fee starts, and I just got the cat put on this afternoon. Here are my numbers (seems MD uses GPM and not PPM, so the other posts throw me off so I dont know how bad I failed really). Allowed ReadingsHydrocarbons (HC): 1.0000 GPM 3.7007 GPM FailedCarbon Monox. (CO): 20.0000 GPM 37.8643 GPM FailedOxides/Nitrogen (NOx): 2.2000 GPM 1.9153 GPM Passed

So, after search and doing some reading of other failed emissions/smog postings I came to the conclusion that my cat is working, since NOx levels were good. The other two can be any number of problems though correct?

I guess it's time to do an oil change and swap the plugs. Anyone have any other suggestions on what I can do to lower those two levels? I have until August to pass again (or I just have to repay).

Maybe looking at getting a SAFC to deal with the fuel situation if it's running too rich? I don't know if its a sign but I only get about 230miles to a tank with spirited driving, and my exhaust pipe is all sooty, but until today I was running a test pipe.

Suggestions/Recommendations? I am going to go get plugs/oil/filter tomorrow and will change that friday most likely (or tomorrow depending on how my day goes).

Thanks

--edit--stupid question time, how much oil does the SR20det take? I did a search and can't seem to find the info. Thanks

I've heard of this, but am unsure about it. Where would I put it? I'll add a couple cans to my list though.

--edit-- nevermind, i remember doing this to my KA before I did the swap. I run this into the intake thats on rear left of the motor (when standing in front of the car) correct?

thanks
