If i came outside and I saw a valet with my bugatti on the curb, or it touching the curb, first id punch myself for handing over the keys, then id light him on fire!

if an establishment has a valet service, is it mandatory to let them park it for you, or can you just blow them off and do it yourself?

no idea... but i do know that most places will just move the super nice cars about 10 feet and park them next to a curb rather than drive them around to a random a** parking place somewhere

i've been to places where they have valet service and i have parked my car myself. I wasn't trying to be a douche thinking my car is only fit for me and I alone to drive. I just couldn't pay for it.. lol

Depends on the establishment. in many places, the park yourself area is farther away than the valet area.

Much depends on a combination of the car, the establishment itself and their policies, whether they know you, and especially how well you tip.

We used to get royal valet treatment at this one particular restaurant where my wife's company did a LOT of entertaining. We'd eat there occasionally on our own. They'd recognize my wife, and our car (nothing fancy) was always parked (backed in) right in front of the door. Of course you gotta tip well to get that kinda service.

Money talks from what I have seen... The only valet driver i let drive my car is in multi level garages in nyc where you need to drive onto an elevator... if i cant park it, i keep looking.

Ive had 2 things stolen by valet, and they broke my fathers glove box trying to get into it when i was a kid.
