Ah, the ole 125mph (or so) fuel cut. I believe the only solution is to clip the vehicle speed sensor where it goes into the ecu. I am not sure what the ramifications on the speedometer are.

It's actually a 115mph fuel cut-off to keep the kiddos from going too fast. If the fuel cut-off is disabled (not hard) then the 5th gear speed limiter kicks in at 5500rpm. Also, the redline is not 8000rpm, it's 6500rpm. Yes the tach goes that high, but if it ever did, you would float all the valves and blow the engine.

I personally do not recommend you remove the speed limiter. The only reason you should need to remove it is in the case of a high horsepower car at the drag strip in which your trap speed is approaching fuel cut-off. There is no reason to be doing that kind of speed on a public road.

besides, at that point you are exeeding the speed rating of the stock tires, which is a bad idea in itself.

Maybe getting some overnight parts from japan. A thread about speeding, in which the user does not know when his own car is topping out, or his own redline. With a thread title involving the clutch. Hmm.
