Hi guys..quick question.

I have had my AC for about 4 months and absolutely love the car. I get more compliments on it and people staring then I have ever thought.

I have noticed since the day I bought the car that there is this faded area of paint behind the passenger side door. Not really faded paint, but the paint there doesn't look as shiny as the other areas of the car. It looks like it just sat in the sun to long and that part faded.

Would it be possible to get some clay polish or something along those lines and use it to remove those areas of concern? No one else notices them expect for me, but it is driving me mad.

I am also thinking of spending tomorrow afternoon cleaning the car up. What steps should I take in the washing/shining process. Should I wash it, then polish it, then wax it? Will this result in the best shine? I am really wanting that "wet look" I have the Ice wax, any suggestions on a polish?

I also have one more question...I have this small stain on the sunroof area, I am thinking it is from the grease from the sunroof. Is there anything I can do to remove the stain...it drives me insane.

Thanks for the advice/info

Some polish would probably take care of it...if you're gun shy take itto a detail shop and they'll probably fix it up for under 20 bucks.

Be careful with new paint though...don't get to rough with it.

Wash....then polish if necessary...then wax. Ice is awesome.

You could claybar it too before waxing, but only do that sparinglymaybe only once a year.

Interior stain? Try a toothbrush with some color safe clothes detergentand water and scrub. Oxiclean might work too.

I doubt the car needs the clay bar yet. It's still pretty new.

farewell, any chance you could snap a pic of that? I know pics wont really do it justice, but I work in the automotive coatings business and I might be able to see something. If it doesn't look as good as the rest of the car after washing (before polish/wax), something might have spilled on the car during assembly and caused the paint to haze. Either way, I'd try to wash and polish/wax. If that doesn't work, go back to the dealer and complain. Keep us updated!

Let me see if I can find some batteries for my camera and see if I can get a decent pic. Like I said it is hard to notice unless you are really looking.

Should I get some polish/wax combo or both separate? I will try to post some pics in the next 15 mins.

EDIT: to dark in the garage to get some decent pics.

What it reminds me of is like when you sit something in the sun and part of it fades a bit. Just a little hazey cloud

Mine had that when I removed my rear wing in 3 spots whereI had rubbed off the tape. It discolored the entire trunk edgeand looked like a could, or hazy. I took it over to a good detail shop and paid 15, plus a 5 dollar tip. It looksperfect.

All he did was apply a little polish and buffed it. Might have had a bit of compound in there too...cuz I had a couple scratches too.

But post some pics cuz you don't want to do something that willmake it worse.

It isn't that small square area where the rock guard protective clear sticker is by any chance? I thought that was a bad paint spot the first time I saw it

The paint job has warranty. its a new car so it shouldn't fade or rust for a few years at least 10 years
