so..... yesterday, im sitting and the house about to order up me sum of that good nistune technology, when i get to the step in placing the order where it asks me for my ecu part number. so i go out to my lovely CA powered duece and yank out the ecu like a 5 year old child all hopped up on redbull, and while im out there i grab another ecu thats lying near by. i take both ecu's to my layer and start looking at them the one that was in my car i socketed and chipped and it works it has part number MEC-DO15 written on the side of the ecu, the sticker thats on the cover was missing when i got it . the ecu that i grabbed off the floor is a lil different now. the sticker on the cover says ( nissan genuine remanufactured electronic control unit) part number MEC-DO17R now does the R on the end of that number mean something????? it has a really well installed socket with chip in it to i just dont know what to think. its like i just found jesus's baby or something maybe. someone give me info?

I'm thinking the R stands for remanufactured

Maybe there once was something wrong with the ECU in your car, so the owner bougth a new remanufactured ECU from Nissan At the same time he "sold" his broken ECU to Nissan, and they have now fixed it, and sold it to someone else as a remanufatured ECU..

Just a thouht.
