Hello! I am new here, and wondering if anyone else has the issues I have with my car handling on snow. I have the 09 LE AWD and recently wrecked it because of some slush. Now, my husband was all ready to attribute it to me being female and therefore inherently bad at driving, but he had to fly to Seattle to pick it up from the body shop and drive it home to CO. On the way home, he had 2 near misses and now has at least allowed that perhaps it was the car, and not me, that was to blame Has anyone else had problems in bad conditions with factory tires? Btw, please don't tell me how AWL only helps you get started, not to stop. I've heard it enough from someone else....

What is the name brand of the Factory tires on the Murano. I would believe they would be an all season tire, but there are so many different choices. It is quite possible the tires are not up to par as a more expensive tire.

I live in Minnesota and my '10 SL AWD has been fabulous on the snow. The good tires combined with high clearance lets me go through snow with ease.

I've actually had quite the opposite experience with my 09 LE with OEM tires. We've gotten over 50 inches of snow in Virginia over the past two months; a lot of snow by our standards. My Murano had done very well int he snow and slush. I was very surprised because I used to drive an AWD Jeep Grand Cherokee that could go through anything.

Sorry...can't relate to your problems. 2009 LE on 20" Toyo factory tires here and I have nothing but raves as I get through my second winter cruising around with no issues at all.

In fact, we just got 10" the other day here in Indiana and our roads were a completel mess for 2 days...slush, drifts, you name it. The Murano barely breaks a sweat getting through it all, and if anything, probably makes me overconfident because of how well it handles.

Gonna have to side with the hubby on this one. Sorry. AWD vehicles don't stop any better than anything else. It just helps with forward movement. The tread is pretty mild on the OEM tires...my guess is too fast for conditions.

Have to agree with most on here. 2009 LE with the 20" Toyo's, has been great, no issues in the snow.
