Does anyone have a problem with the sub rattling... It happens pretty random and a lot of times even the radio will do it. Some songs even on CD's there is nothing and other times its so annoying I just change the song or station and its gone. I don't think its blown I think its mostly the cover that rattles. I noticed it verrry bad when I rode in the back seat while my friends blasted music. Its unbearable from the back. So is there any ideas on how to quiet that rattle?

Also I know I dont have the 14 speaker system but is the sub , tweeters and mids in my car the same speakers only difference is I have less speakers and power?

Overall I do not think its a bad system at all, definitely sufficient for what it is and what I paid for the car but I'd be a lot happy with out a rattle, Thanks.

You can wedge some foam padding under the panel to get rid of the rattle.

Just like atlM35 said you have to do that. If you actually put a song on that makes the cover rattle and push down with your hand the rattle is gone. I think everyone had that problem even my self with the 14 speaker system but the subwoofer should be the same in your car as well. Not only did it rattle but the bass wasn't any good! My 99 TL's stock Bose subwoofer sounded louder and didnt rattle.

Your rattling is caused by certain frequencies the subwoofer has to deal with that shakes the covers.

Anyways, I got an aftermarket 10 inch alpine Type R in the truck with a sealed box and had the installer disconnect the stock sub. I got it installed at the Best buy on 150.

Never heard of freemans but I already had the Subwoofer and Amp. I just had to pay them 200+tax to install it.

100 for amp kit and another 100 to install it. It took the person about 5-6 hours to install it and i waited the whole time and saw his work. I was VERY impressed. I dont know how they charge so little for so much time it took to install. He did a very good job though. Couldnt have asked for more.

550 installed for everything isnt bad if it includes amp, sub, box, wires, fuses and installation especially for JL stuff.

My trunk rattles on the exterior if I raise up the volume half way or more.

I just had this same issue and took it to the dealer to address. It turned out the rear shock bearings were bad and they were rattling with the bass. They fixed the shocks for no charge (still under warranty) and now I have no rattles. It may be something to check out.
