I just bought a new deck for my 95 LE edition, but I'm wondering if I can install it (and an amp) myself or not due to hearing about it perhaps having a factory amp and having to bypass it when I install my deck. Does anyone know if this is true? Any advice, or tips?

Did your car have a Bose-type stereo origianlly? If so, there are probably amps at each speaker, and you'd need ot either replace everything or use an adapter. Try looking at these.

Also, drop in the Car Audio Forum, you may get better and quicker response.

My 95 SE had the factory amp mounted under the rear deck between the speakers. I just bypassed everything by running new speaker wires.

its easy to bypass the rear amps, but if your new stereo has low-level rca outputs you can convert the wires from the back of the old stereo into rca plugs and still use the factory amps, i did it with my subwoofer and it sounds great.
