Just wanted to get an idea from fellow G35 owners whether they get their car serviced only at the dealer?

I bought a G back in May and it is my first New car ever and I love it. I'm trying to decide if there is value in always having it serviced at the Infiniti dealer even thought it will cost a little more. (lot more)

For instance, I'm at my 7500 mile mark and the dealer wants $150 for Oil change and other preventative maint. They typical $36 oil change is fine, but $150 seems steep for my second service.

What are your thoughts?

Sounds a bit high to me as well. I think the dealer usually charges me about $50 for an oil change. The 15k, 30k and 45k service is a bit more expensive than that, but they change more fluids and some other things.

I think it is of value to have the car serviced at the dealer as long as you are not being ripped off, which in this instance I think you are.

My service tech knows that I price things around town and he works with me most of the time. Sometimes I get really good deals, sometimes it is about even and sometimes I pay a little more depending on what I am having done.

The major benefit to me in having it serviced at the dealer is that your maintenance logs are in Infiniti's history, which is very helpful to do research on the car and also adds a little more value to the car when you sell it.

I had a J30 before my G and I had 10 years of maintenance history with the dealer, which is why I sold a 10 year old J with 133K miles on it for $5,400, that plus I take excellent care of my cars.

Also I personally feel that if the dealer maintains it and they screw something up then they only have themsleves to blame.

Just my 2 cents. Don't do everything at the dealer weigh your options. I mean if you really feel the dealer is ripping you off don't do business with them on that maintenance item.

Hope that helps.Brandon

Personally, I do all of my own maintenance. If there is a warranty issue, then I'll take it to the dealer.
