From the way it sounds it's a pay via the job scenario should pay .08 hours for them from what i read but the guy said it could take longer, im going to tell him to call if it takes longer than an hour or maybe someone else will do it if they have the tool at an independent shop, any ideas?ddsmith60 wrote:Hey willko1,
How do they deal with the ecm reflash. Does that get covered under the recall or are you forking over $120 and hour for labor. All I know is that the key I had made at the dealer was $256 dollars. I think I have the same thing going on with my Q45t with a p0138 and p0158 codes. With the scan tool installed and driving the voltage on the second sensor moves between .190 volts and .280 volts very slowly. Not like the front O2 which is back and forth between .020 volts and .880 volts when driving. I'll have to look into the wheel recall also. To find out if it has already been done on my car or not.
WOW! How about you tell them that you have a set of wheels that is affected by the recall and if they give you a hard time you let them know that you will call the 6pm news and also drop a line to Infiniti USA with news of your press release. Really glad that you and anyone else was not hurt due to this! Good EYE!ddsmith60 wrote:Talk about timely information about the wheel recall. I just had two tire put on the car and noticed that the one tire was losing pressure. I checked several times in the tread block for leaks and found nothing. I check the tire valve and outside bead and still no leakage. I figured that it had to be the inside bead and when I was laying on my back in the driveway spraying soapy water on the bead I found a big surprise. A crack in the rim running toward the hub from the outside edge across the tire bead area blowing bubbles at me. I will try the nice approach to get them replaced under the recall. I hope they take care of it without to much of a fight.
That really stinks! You may get some recourse as the numbers are so close though. If your near Tampa I have a lead on 18" chrome! 350 z wheels and tires awesome shape for cheap but it local pickup.ddsmith60 wrote:An update on the wheel situation. They are not covered by the recall. The information comes from Infiniti. The guy was nice enough to give me the casting numbers that it applies to. The castings are 991001 through 010630 in a year, month, day format. I pulled the offending rim and it is 99701. I am going to report this to the NHSTA as a data point. I did find out another interesting fact. Infiniti archieves VIN information after your car is a certain age unless it has a recall applicable to it. My information was archieved but with the casting number I was able to verify that it was not part of the recall even though it appears it should have been considering what I have going on. Just thought this information might help someone in the future. Looks like I need to buy a replacement wheel.
