I have a 1992 Nissan 240SX.
And a question hoping for a answer. I recently purchased a new head unit, and while thats all good and dandy, someone I know when trying to install it couldn't get it done. It seems there are too many wires that dont match up with the 12 wires coming off of the new head units wiring loom. Here is the description:
New Head Unit:White - Front Speaker(+)White/Black - Front Speaker(-)Gray - Front Speaker(+)Gray/Black - Front Speaker(-)Green - Rear Speaker(+)Green/Black - Rear Speaker(-)Purple - Rear Speaker(+)Purple/Black - Rear Speaker(-)Red - ACCBlue - System RemoteYellow - BatteryBlack - Ground
Now thats great but on the factory head unit that was already installed in the car has a bunch of extra wires and I'm not quite sure what is suppose to goto what, I figured out the speakers by looking at the label on the bottom of the factory head unit, but still no help. These were the wires that were actually crimped to the adaptor which attached to the back of the factory head unit.
Factory Head Unit:Blue/White - Left Front Speaker(+)Blue/Green - Left Front Speaker(-)Brown - Right Front Speaker(+)Brown/White - Right Front Speaker(-)Red/Black - 13.2V Back Up(+)Black/Red - Ant. Signal(This and the Red/Black one were twisted together but going into different ports)Red/Blue - 13.2V(+)Blue - ACCRed/Yellow - Illumi ControlPink - Right Rear Speaker(-)Purple - Right Rear Speaker(+)Green - Left Rear Speaker(-)Red - Left Rear Speaker(+)
Those were all the wires connected to the back of the factory head unit. When I removed it from the dash there was 2 other crimped pieces connecting to absolutely nothing.
Crimped Piece #1(Connected to nothing):Red Yellow (?)
Crimped Piece #2(Connected to nothing):Red/Blue (?)Red/Black (?)Blue (?)
Also I think he damaged some of the other eletronics in my car as well, the dash lights don't come on and the headlight in the car doesnt work unless the car is completely turned on. All I need to know is which wires from the factory head unit need to be connected to which wires on the new head unit wiring loom.ASAP Help would be appreciated thanks alot.
