Hello, I just registered here after reading for a while and just recently buying a white 93 convertible.

My question is if anyone knew what the factory paint color was or what the color code is for my car? And if anyone knew where I could buy touch up paint in that color because I got a lot of minor detailing to take care of. Tried searching for "factory paint" and the likes in search button but nothing related came up.

Appreciate the help, thanks.

the factory paint on your car is white. im not sure about where to find the color code, but i think you should look for a plate on the door posts to see if there is a code there. theres also a plate on the firewall in the engine bay that shows the engine code and what not, check there too

Check your book and any paperwork that came with the car for Nissan's paint name. Mine was Aztec Red... Check Autozone's touch up paint section. They sell all of the Nissan colors, especially the early 90's colors. Before my car was re-painted I purchased a bottle of Nissan Aztec Red touch up paint for a few dollars. It worked fine for the time being until the car went to the paint shop (or about as well as you'd expect touch up paint to work).

Alright cool I'll try and look at those areas/places. I've only stopped by checkers and looked at their book for paint selection of 93 nissans and there were at least 3 whites. Super white, Vail white, cloud white.

Thanks for the help.

wait - before you go painting anything...please note that harsh conditions...sun...etc will have faded some of your oem paint away.

So if you are touching up minor spots - trying to find and use the factory color might not be so much of a problem.

However, if you got noticeable chunks to redo (like maybe the size of a fist) I think you will notice the difference. Just fyi

Thanks for the info. I can totally see the faded color in my paint, I really wish I could have a professional touch up and buff/polish it back to normal but I havent looked in my area who does that. Also money and time at the moment. The biggest area that I need to redo is about the size of lincolns head on a penny, but there are many more tiny areas that I wanna cover to stop any more corrosion and damage.

If I have some sticker on the rear bumper that has probably been on for a few years, what would be the best way to go about removing it? Is there a glue remover that won't damage paint? It'd probably leave a more cleaner white rectangle after it comes off... will polish plus a rag and some elbow grease be able to fade that in a little better with the slightly tarnished bumper?

Other than minor detailing and corrosion on the rims, car is pretty clean. Will enter it in your registry when I can.

use a product called goo off. I think thats what its called. At any hardware store or sometimes you can get them at a drug store.

Careful use of a heat gun (they are cheap) will make the sticker come off in one piece and take the adhesive along with it (generally...). Just don't scorch your paint with it. You can remove residue with Zippo fluid, just be careful to wipe it off quickly and then clean and wax the area.
