First post to this forum and have to say i am impressed with the info i am finding regarding the A/C.

was wondering if anyone has installed an aftermarket stereo, (i am installing an AVIC Z3 with bluetooth addon), and used the factory antenna instead of the antenna that comes with the adapter. any help would be appreciated.

First, welcome. What are you talking about with the factory antenna? Are you referring to XM, GPS or good ol' radio? If you are talking about the radio antenna, there is an adapter that is needed to make it work. Most cars have a Motorola antenna connector (this is what plugs into the back of your aftermarket radio), but Nissan does not use this. You will still use the factory antenna, but the connector must be changed to be compatible with your radio. Make sure to connect the blue wire on the adapter to the power antenna wire on the Avic wiring harness, or else you will not get any signal. Please let me know if you were referring to something else.

I would say no regarding the factory XM atenna and aftermarket head unit... for one, the antenna is in the trunk, and I'm not sure t would reach up to the front to hit the Aftermarket H/U..

next, the plug for XM is a little funky... I've noticed that the XM plug for the Pioneer units looks very similar to the ones for the factory Xm unit, so it MAY work if you could get it to reach up to the front... but for all of that work, why not just use the one for the aftermarket unit the way it is supposed to b used? i hid mine underneath the dash, and I don't have any signal issues whatsoever!
