Well no lights for Ivy.

After a month of troubleshooting, the techs at my dealership could not get the lights to come on. They replaced the module, and did various troubleshooting with the ignition. The lights only come on when the car is off, and the door is ajar, but when you turn the ignition they shut off and off and don't come back on. I have a 2008 with the I-Key. They got ahold Nissan, and Nissan suggested I'd swap the 2009 BCM with my 2008. My service adviser said that would be very expensive and would probably be a nightmare to deal with owning and the warranty.

I'm getting refunded the 250 for the lights, and the 160 for the labor. Plus they're replacing the trim around the cup holder where the main switch was screwed on. I'll put it back on my credit card and pay it off completely. I thought the idea would of been kewl, but maybe sometime in the future when they perfect this, as I was the guinea pig. I also got a free oil change. I still have faith in my dealer, I guess it's just one of those things in time my dealership will have a fix for. I still have faith in them, and they did everything they knew how.

Maybe I should buy the Cube with the lights factory installed...

That's a shame, I got mine installed with no hassle. It took them a while but managed to get it done right the first time. Hopefully if you try it again, they get it right.

That is freakishly strange. Can't they just wire up the power lead to a constant or switched wire that is on the car? there are tons of them.

It sounds like they have it wired up the same as the overhead dome light (in the position that lights up when the doors are open and turns off with the door closed or ignition turned on). I think that's the problem right there.

Now the lights don't work at all! Doesn't matter if idle or not. Nothing.

Is the kit fused? If so, probably blew the fuse.

You can save a lot of money by doing this yourself, given it won't have as many options, but it still looks good. I bought 2 of the 9.5 inch led strips from Oznium and used double sided tape to stick them under the dash, then i bought a switch from radio shack and removed one of the dash screws and refastened it with the switch. For wiring, I tapped into the back of the dimmer, and grounded to one of the bolts on the side. My only complaint is that since I wired it to the dimmer, it only works when my headlights are turned on. Otherwise it provides a really nice effect.

I'm still really interested in the cupholder led's though, I haven't been able to find a really clear picture of them in action though, anyone got a link?

Move the hot wired and tap it to a switched wire (anything that works with the key turned to on) and you're set. Wiring it to the dimmer is actually not a bad idea, the accent lighting is useless in daylight anyway, and instead of the switch, you should have a fuse instead. There is really no need to have a switch unless you prefer not to have the light come on at times. A fuse on the other hand is essential.

You could also do ELWire instead of LEDs. There are a few sites that sell it out there. Pretty cool stuff.

mm, I'd find that quite annoying. It'd be good for show cars I guess.
