Hello all!

I've been looking at several SUVs, and the Rogue has definitely caught my eye.

Having a backup camera is a definite selling point for me. I was browsing through the Nissan Rogue website, and happened to find the In-mirror Rearview Monitor http://www.nissanusa.com/rogue/accessories.html which is under the Interior section. Interestingly, it does not come up when you try to build a Rogue.

I find it strange that no one has mentioned this, and I have only found aftermarket solutions for a rearview camera.

Has anyone bought this? Does this come with a camera on the back? Is the wiring internal?

Please share your thoughts/experiences! Thank you!

This is a new aftermarket accessory Nissan is selling. Like many accessories, they are not factory installed but can be added by the dealer before delivery.

This is the first I've seen of this mirror so I have no idea on how it's installed and if it's wireless or not.

Ok, found it.

The mirror is mfg. by Gentex. They are the OEM supplier for most Nissan rearview mirrors:

Gentex just makes the bare mirror, you have to add an external camera. The camera is typically hard wired.

I'm not sure what the Nissan unit comes with. It may include a camera as well. Installation is likely extra cost.

$525 for the mirror? I don't how helpful it is but you can buy a nice replacement headunit with nav for around that price including the camera.

You can buy the bare mirror for about $339 online. Then you still have to add the camera, wiring and labor.

I agree, a new stereo headunit with nav system and a backup camera would be a much better value.

I purchased the in-mirror rearview monitor from Nissan. I dropped off the car at the dealership around 9am and picked it up at 4pm. From what I was told, installation took "several" hours and it was a pain. I was going to get an aftermark built-in navi with DVD and back up camera but after shopping around, I decided to go with the Nissan ones mainly because of the nissan warranty. It actually works pretty well and does the job.

This was part of the 360 value package on my Rogue. The small screen size and limited depth perception somewhat hinders it's usefulness to me but at least you can be aware of something being to the rear so it's better than nothing. My head unit has a 7 inch screen and a rear camera option added to that would be much better. Also, but not surprisingly I've discovered that any dew or frost or road spray obscures the lens same as it does on the rear window. Too bad the Rogue doesn't have a rear wiper washer.

Can anyone recomend a good/decent head unit with rear view monitor/nav capability?

I put in a Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD from Amazon for $312 a couple months ago. After logging in and viewing some items I was emailed umpteen 30 and 25% off codes for Pioneer car stereo stuff so I also did all four door speakers too. I notice the prices fluctuate on Amazon a lot. Not claiming that this unit is the best one you can get but it's large, crisp screen, fairly easy controls and ability to add modular features like BT, camera, sat radio, nav and ipod control make it like a swiss army knife media center. You'll need a wiring and antenna adapter as well as dash adapter. Get the Scosche stuff not the Metra ones.
