the inline converter, it's easiest (in my opinion) install to the rear speaker wire after the amp, behind the rear quarter panel plastic.

The remote wire, when i had a factory headunit i hooked the remote wire into one of the metal prongs of a fuse in the fusebox behind the coin tray. Not sure where the fusebox is in your 02, mines a 99. I dont remember which fuse but there are several that are hot only when the car is on. just stick the wire under one of the metal prongs on the fuse and stuff the fuse in.

come to think of it..... there is in fact 12v power to the rear hatch. My 99 has a power plug back there thats only hot when the car is on. Would have been perfect!!!! I didnt even think of that at the time - i simply ran the wires they way i've always been used to, front to back down the sides of the car.

The benefit of having the remote wire up front in this setup, is that you could install a switch and turn on/off the amp at your discretion. Otehrwise it'll always be on when your car is on.

i know that plug hes talking about its in the rear cargo area where your subs would go on the passenger side.

as for remote turn on....isnt there a wire in the factory harness....i wired my subwoofer amp to that. I find a switch annoying, id always forget to turn it on or off.

Wire the turn on wire to the factory bose amp turn on wire behind the plastic in the back. If you wire it to the power outlet in the rear the amp will always be on. Its constant power not switched like the factory bose amp.

like i said research places like installdr.com theyll tell you what wire is aftermarket turn on. DONT connect it to 12V wire as it will always be on. it has to be the turn on wire. As for the rear power outlet.....id have to agree with fueler its only on when ACC/ignition is on. My 12VDC plugs are all off when no key is there. ud be safe to use that. I know this because I cant charge my phone via DC jack unless my cars on, which i might modify. sometimes at work my batteries dead and itd be nice to hide my phone in there somewhere while it charges without the car bein on.
