Is it possible to have the factory GPS installed into my G? I'm really fond of the pop up nav feature and wouldn't want to do it any other way.

Not easily. The hardware would probably be simple enough. But the main harness for a nav version and non-nav version of the G is different. Not a plug-and-play deal. Bear in mind that the main harness is very expensive as well. It defintiely won't be a cheap option. Better to sell the G and find a G with the Nav already installed if you really want it that way...

You could have it installed...but it would be between 2000-3000 dollars. NOT WORTH IT. Better to go with a aftermarket double din conversion with a nav/dvd player.

Yeah I've been looking at some of those. I didn't want to but I guess I will. I was really trying to keep the stock stereo in but I guess I'll just make sure the installation is done by true professionals that garauntee that I wont lose any functionality of my radio in the process. Thanks for the help guys.

Get a DD player man! You'll have more functionality than you'd know what to do with plus navigation. I personally don't like the stock radio because it doesn't scroll, the screen is pretty basic, and it gets washed out pretty easily in the sun.

Do you have one that you recommend, that I can get a decent price?

I'm curious on the pricing of a decent DD unit as well too... wondering what total cost installed would run me?

cost depends on installation and units that you get.

Conversion kit is like $250 i think

Double Din head unit you should expect to pay $800 for a good one

Installation would be free if you lived here by me...(i'd do it for you)but my guess is you will pay $200 or so for a shop to do it

I was looking at the Kenwood Excellon DD deck (8000 series)...but I decided to only upgrade the system by adding a subwoofer setup.
