factory freaks?

hey guys my name is cj and im from South Jordan utah. So Recently my buddy bought an 03 z and it is a blast to drive. sense he bought it ive considered selling my 07 mazdaspeed3 and stepping into not a z but a g35 (i love the looks). Anywho last night i ran into one who said the only thing he had done was advanced the timing 2 degree's and a drop in filter. Anywho he was fast like really fast. He let me look over the bay. No spray, no intake no exhaust no nothing. He said he was a factory freak, He also said he bought it used and it could have like a flywheel. Anywho have any of you heard of anything like this? i walk my friends z by a considerable amount. but he rolled me by quite a bit even from a roll... any info behind this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure someone will chime in on the 'flywheel'. I think you can only get those on the JDM, but not 100%. Anywho....

How old are you? I'm from Utah...I grew up in West Jordan, my parents are in bluffdale.

I have a friend named CJ who just bought a G35 who lives in Riverton.

Anyways, there are "factory freaks" which out of the gate are faster than a lot of other stock G's. However, its very possible your friend has a few mods that he is unaware of since he's not a 1st owner.

I'm gonna be moving back to Utah in about 2 weeks or so.

i am 19, and it wasnt off the line the kid pulled like a mofo from a roll. i know its not boosted and i know hes not spraying i just dont see how he could of pulled so hard. all he had done supposedly was advance the timing 2 degree's. there was no intake no exhaust... maybe injectors and s*** and a tune but flip he pulled

Ya, there are factory freaks, but I dont think its that drastic of a difference. I think that there might be something done to his car. Are you sure that the exhaust is the stock? No HFC or test pipes, with a plenum spacer mod and a tune?

If you know the kid I can come check out the car and tell you pretty quickly if there are things done to it.

Test pipes with plenum mod and a good tune can make a pretty big difference.

I believe I have one of those "factory freaks".

I have minor mods and no tune and put down 273 to the wheels on a dyno dynamics and 286 to the rear hubs on a dynapack.

I assume that G you saw was tuned due to the 2 degree advance. I know some people who only have this done, but it usually comes with a tune. Also if it was stick, a lightweight flywheel could add a decent amount of acceleration to the car.

Still hard to believe that it beat your speed3 though

Any number of things could have been done that are not visible ... changing gears or motor displacement are a couple of examples.
