So i just ordered an A/C from a local dealership. They didnt have an existing car that fit my needs so we had to order it from the factory. I live in CT and was wondering if anyone else had any experience waiting for the model from the factoy? About how long does it take to produce/ship etc? I cant seem to find any info and my dealer is being very round-about with their answers (kinda sketching me out)

They tell me they can give me a delivery date in 2 weeks, if it takes 2 weeks to get a DATE for delivery how long is the entire process going to take? dasjfhlajkdfha i just want my F'in CAR!

Welcome!

Where did you purchase from? Napoli?

I was lucky enough to have a dealer trade happen when I purchased mine at Bruce Bennett. Folks on here that have ordered theirs have had a wait time of 8-12 weeks under worst case scenarios. It's probably better now that the vehicle has been out for a year now.

Expect to wait for 2 months. That's what I waited and what most everyone else did that had their car ordered. Now I don't know if that time is shorter now that the car has been out for a little longer (I had mine ordered around Thanksgiving).

I also think the dealer is right about the 2 weeks of waiting time, I don't think they get the car in the system for a little bit until Nissan does whatever on their end.

Thanks!

I actually went to napoli and almost laughed in the salesman's face. Probably the worst salesman ever, he started out making nothing but assumptions about me and what i wanted. He told me i wanted the 2.5, he told me I wanted CVT(which he refered to as continuous triptronic something automatic transmission, direct quote, no lie), and he told me i wanted a sedan. I just looked him straight and told him no, actually, i want a 6 speed, with the V6, and a coupe in this color. SO needless to say after that experience i found a different dealership haha (D'addario is where i ended up ordering from)

but ARHG!!! im gona go nuts waiting for this . . . first new car purchase for a new grad, ive been waiting for this for over 6 years already! i cant wait another 2 months!! lol

I've never been out to the Napoli dealership, I figured that's where you you went because your in Stratford. I've heard similar stories about them and their salesmen.

I'd recommend you to Bruce Bennett but that's a haul from where you live.

What package did you get with it, if any?

3.5SE 6MT

Premium package

Tech package

floor mats + kick plates

Dark Slate

My dealer checked the area and there were only like 3 coupes with MT and navi. They were all white or black <sigh>. So i took the mentality that "Hey! im spending ~$30k i am going to get exactly what i want", so i just had em order it from the factory =)

Be prepared to wait a full 3 months still. The dealer ordered my car from factory on April 1st and they just called me last week with an expected delivery date of June 25th, they said it could be a few days sooner or later.. They called a month a go or so and let me know it would be June but didn't have a date.

I order a 6MT 3.5SE Dark Slate with no packages, bring delivered to PA.

I was in the same boat, new college grad, first new car, and I wasn't going to sink $25-$30 grad in a car that wasn't exactly how I wanted it. It is worth the wait, it goes pretty fast.

When I went to the dealership they didn't have the one I wanted so I asked how long it would take to get it factory ordered and he said 2 to 3 months. Well the big factory to dealer rebate was expiring in a few days so I went to an auto-broker and he found one for me the next day and shipped it over from the mainland so I still got the rebate and didn't have to wait...

Well when I ordered mine there were no rebates and now there is, so that is a plus for me having to wait. Also when I went I made the mistake of telling them right off the bat I was going to use a VPP discount, so when they searched for one I'm not sure really how far or hard they searched. Which is understandable bc if they found it they would have had to make a dealer trade and since I'm using the VPP already it probably wasn't worth it for them.

that sounds great except you got a CVT and in a VERY popular color (almost ever coupe ive seen on the road and in a dealer has been silver).

It is the manual transmission thats locking me out from finding one atm, he was searching for me and (think i mentioned this above) he only found 3 or 4 in the northeast that were MT's with navi etc. all silver/black/white =(

nissan epic fails at producing manual transmissions. F U CVT!!!!!

The weird thing is that I have never seen another silver one in my area - I wonder if it is just a regional thing.. When I did the test drive, it was in a black one that was already spoken for and that was the only altima coupe left at the dealership - if I had gotten there a week later there wouldnt even have been one to try out or even look at.. Small town dealerships have their drawbacks I guess..

I got the same story, 2 to 3 month wait for a 6MT in a 2.5. Was expecting to wait that long to get what I wanted, but less than a week later the dealer called and said the car was ready for me to pick up. They did a dealer swap with another dealer 80 miles away. Even got my first color choice of Code Red with the Conv. Package. Depending on how persistent the dealer is and how hard they want to work to find one, maybe you'll get as lucky. Good luck!

it all depends on how large the dealership is and what they sell a month. i worked for glenn nissan in lexington KY which sales wise is the largest one in KY on a good month we would sell about 150 new nissans a month. when we ordered a car it took around 1.5 to 2 months from the time we ordered it to the time it was dropped off at our door. but my guess is that it shouldnt take much longer than that.

What dealer did you go to?

It's been almost 3 weeks since I have ordered mine and they have told me they know as much as I do... absolutely nothing. I was hoping I would have at least heard about a delivery date sometime this week.

I ordered from Kenny Ross Nissan in Butler.

I order begging of April, heard early May they knew it would be June, got a expected arrival date late May for June 25th. They said it might be a couple days before, or even after, the date they gave me.

I'm getting mine a different way.

The dealer didn't have exactly what I wanted. So they searched the state for it....NOTHING.

So then they searched incoming cars for the next 3 weeks...NOTHING.

So then they looked at something called the AVR. It's some sort of placewhere they hold the dealer alotments. Anything left that the dealers dont order they can put on reserve and have shipped to them. They happened to find my exact car there and the wait was 3 weeks. I'm expecting delivery next Tuesday.

This is good cuz if they had to do a dealer trade...I couldn't have negotiatedas agressively.I'm happy cuz ordering from the factory would have been 6-8 weeks according to the dealer.
