My cd player should be here any day now, its a single din unit. but I was curious on how difficult it was to remove the factory stuff. I believe I have the Bose system (says bose on the tape deck) and dont know exactly how to take the oem stuff out or if the 6 disc is going to give me any trouble.

Can someone help me out

THanks

ps- I also planning on installing new speakers and an amp for those speakers themselves, that makes the oem speaker wire and the oem connections to the back of the cd player useless then right?

Thanks again

hi,

the removal of the factory cd player is easy. the unit which the clock is located must come out first. be very careful as it is easy to break.

once that is out, there are two screw which become visible once the unit is out. unhook the two wire for hazard light and rear defogger. unhook all of the harness for the cd player.

any car audio stereo or even best buy/circuit city sell the car harness. plug those in. just hook up the front speaker because to get to the rear speaker you will have to go to the quarter panel on the rear left side (driver).

Just hook up all wires and tap into it at each speaker location.

It will take some time but not no more than a day.

So the wood plastic face just pops off with a little prying?

I dont really understand what you mean by connecting speaker wires and only being able to connect certain ones. I do have the radio harness already,, it clips into the factory harness, and I already have it solderred to the harness that came with my aftermarket cd player.

And as for the 6 disc changer, is that just built right into a single cd player unit? its not some totally seperate piece?

yes, but there are two clips.

you only need to connect the front two speaker up front.

the rear door speaker are connected to a speak amp located in the left rear panel. you will have to tap into one of those wire. I'm unsure of the color.

i have a 01 Nissan pathfinder and the tape and 6 disc changer are separate piece.

I will post a pic for you.

Id love a pic. Im just waitin on my cd player which seems to be shipping very slowly so I know what Im getting myself into

As for wiring, Im not to worried, as I dont plan on using the factory ****, i plan on installing new speakers and running them throuhg a new cadence amp I bought. So Im gonna have to run all new wiring anyways

i have upload an image. if you look at the right vent you will see a yellow/red circle. that is where the clip is located.

It took me maybe 15 minutes to remove the factory HU. I have an 01 QX4 with the Bose and 6 disc changer.

Just be careful with the vents.

I decided against fixing the busted cd player and bought an ipod and a tape adapter instead.
