Factory CD Player Question

Ive got a 96 240sx SE and I have a stock CD player with stock clarion amps and speakers. I just replaced the speakers with infinitys and since they are 4ohm speakers and the factory ones are 2 ohms. im going to put a new deck in and get rid of the amps. I figure it would sound a lot better. My question is can i put the stock deck in another car? Or will it only work with the amps? I have an alpine deck in my daily driver and i just want to switch the two.

You could in theroy, put the existing deck into another car, but it will need similar amps, as it doesn't have any "speaker level" output. In other words, it could work, but probably isn't worth the trouble.

ok thanks. So basically the stock deck has no power output for speakers right?

Correct, the stock deck in a car with the "active" speakers has no speaker level (wattage) output.
