After a long day at work, I'm leaving around 1:30am to get to my Rogue. After finding that my front right tire was flat I proceeded to place the spare on. At first look of the rink a dink factory car jack i questioned whether it will hold up the weight of my car and jack it up high enough with it being an SUV. Thought to myself, it has to since I don't believe Nissan will ever put this here if it didn't. After jacking the car 3/4's of the way up I was able to take the tire off. When I went to grab the spare and started to put it on, the jack quietly started bending and next thing I knew the car had shifted off the jack and was laid on it's rotor. I could have got crushed? I'm thankful I didn't but it was apparent to me that whether it be just Nissan or all other car companies, they really should include something that is a lot safer to use. If I was able to purchase a SUV hydraulic jack on Amazon for $70 just now, it's something that should be included with the car. Thinking about complaining to Nissan Dept. Is it worth it?

Yeah I hear you on that one and I'm sorry to hear about your terrible experience.

I've never actually had a jack deform/bend and fail under normal weight of the vehicle it was designed to be used with. I know it is common for them to tip a the base is very narrow and unstable, which is a real concern and easily fixed with a proper stable jack, but the fact that your jack failed structurally is even more shocking. If you have the time and desire to complain to Nissan it definately wouldn't be a bad idea, most often things like this go un-reported simply because people don't take the time to complain and let manufacturers know that this is not acceptable. I agree something like this should not happen due to cost cutting at the expense of safety - in my experience all manufacturer's seem to do it, but again that does not excuse it.

Which jack did you get from Amazon? Are you referring to a jack that can fit in the existing location where the factory jack is stored?
