The BOV is located right on the backside of the SMIC. There should be a hole about 2 inches in diameter with a rubber elbow with the BOV on the end. Lots of times, the stock BOV is missing when you get a used SMIC

I personally thought my car ran better without a BOV than it did with one. I seemed to get better response at partial throttle. What I did when I still had the SMIC is I just took a copper pipe cap that fit into the rubber elbow and hose clamped it down. If you are running stock boost I really dont think it will be an issue without a BOV. A BOV will lenghthen the life of your turbo though. Ive been without a BOV with stock turbo pushing 1bar of boost for the past year and I still am yet to have problems

I got the stock BOV if you need one.

If there is no hole you might have a CA18DET intercooler.

just be careful with the DSM one.. mine leaked at idle and idled like crap... crush it and it should be ok though.
