Factory Bose harness and amp 01-04 Difference

Hello, I am having a issue with my 2001 Bose 6 disc CD changer. I want to swap this unit out with a newer one from a 02-04 Pathfinder Bose unit with RDS. I want to know if this unit would be plug and play with my 2001. I am planning on maybe buying the newer unit on ebay. Im pretty sure they are plug and play but I just want to make sure. Do you think it is worth spending 80 dollars because right now with gas prices and school I cannot afford a aftermarket set up right now. Thanks

personally i would just wait and buy an aftermarket deck.

If you put another bose in it might just crap out on you again.

the deck is made by clarion so if the 2002+ models are still clarion it should be fine.

Actually I seen a person with a 99 Maxima who took a Bose unit from a 06 Pathfinder and installed it. It only took 1 wire modification to the harness I think and it was the amp activation switch. It looked great though. I just want to keep my truck factory for now. I have looked at the plugs on the 01 then on the 02-04 and even on the 05-now and they are the same the only problem is on the 05-now I think you will loose the steering wheel controls.
