I've got an s13 with the active speaker system the guy that had it before me put a panasonic deck in it and kept the stock speakers and everything alse stock including amps now i want to replace those speakers with high power units cause mine are blown anyway i unplugged the factory amps inside the front doors and the main connector has 5 wires going in red bl;ack brown grren blue now i assumed that red was 12volt power for the amps and the black was the ground for the amp and the blue was the signal for the amp so i hooked up the 2 remaining wires straight to the speaker and nothing that would be the green and brown wire. So is my logic flawed or am I stupid or what.

Please don't kill me believe me i've search high and low for answers.

Search more. The front amp input wires will match the wires behind the radio, the rear speakers will require more work but I'll let you search and find it.

i dont think you have to do anything to the rear speakers, but when i put in new front speakers, i just pulled out the whole metal part that the amp was mounted on, leaveing only the plastic housing, and i cut the wires off of the harness and conected them directly to the speakers, i cant remember which color wires to connect to the speakers. but you can just check the harness to see which ones go to the speakers. hope this helps.:ylsuper

START FROM SCRATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is nothing worse than using factory wiring, especially after a previous owner has frigged with it.

From the head-unit.... run wires to all four speakers. This is VERY easy, but a little time consuming. Then YOU will know for sure, exactly what color is what. This will not only elimiate the confusion, but you will have better wiring and you will have bypassed the factory amps! They are junk anyway.

I also think that you erroniously assumed te wire colors were what you stated. Just get rid of the whole mess and wire it yourself.

You will need about 25 feet of speaker wire, and it doesn't hurt to rewire the power supplies and ground with some new gear.

BTW...... PLEASE use punctuation.... your post is almost impossible to read. You don't have to be perfect (we all know I'm not), but it makes it much easier for the READER to understand what you are saying.
