Factory Alarm

I have a 2007 versa SL with the security package. What exactly does the alarm protect. I want add a sensor for impact/shock. Can that be added to the factory alarm system or not? Thanks for any sugesstions.

Someone who used to be on here had the alarm system upgraded at their dealership and I think they paid somewhere around $500 for it... but it included impact sensors...
