Factory Alarm problems

I have a 92 G20, my alarm is randomly keeping me from starting my car, but the siren never goes off, I even to set it off on purpose and nothing.Does anyone know how to deactivate the alarm, it doesnt have a remote but there is a security light on the drivers side that indicates it is armed. I was told these factory have a lot of problems like this.
