factory air temp sensor

i have been running my sr without the factory air temp sensor. I was just wondering what differences I would have if I where to put one in?

Air temp sensor? Like intake temp sensor? The SR doesnt have one. Its turbocharged, the air is either hot, or not the same temp at the throttle body as it was at the intake filter.
