A question I wanted to ask for a while ?A mate of mine and I had a heated argument about this . Now when ever we meet up the topic comes up.He says "300 zx was built with nissan VH V8 engine in 1995 and was called a 300zx GTS". HE has a picture of one somewhere but apparently cant find the book.I kind of belive him but never heard of this,I have seen a nissan V8 in a zx back in the late 90's.This was a car built by a performance shop in SA ,at the time I did not know that nissan made a V8 it was defnately not a factory job. What is the story? True or bullsh***t.

False as false can be.

He's pure bollocks.

The only VH45DE-powered Z32 I know of belongs to one of our members, Slim. It's twin-turbo'd as well.

Sorry to have to say this but you are wrong. Nissan did make this car, but for racing,"The 1995 GTS 300ZX car would debut with the V8 Nissan VH engine at Daytona and would place first in the GTS-1 class at the 24 Hours of Sebring and Mosehead Grand Prix in Halifax."

But as a street car, yes it was never built.

Not trying to start a pissing match here, but what is your source (since you did not list one)? According to following page on answers.com, the GTS was, infact, VG30DETT powered: http://www.answers.com/topic/nissan-300zx

As far as I can tell from research, IMSA and Stillen both fielded the GTS 300ZX variant.

Actually on 1995 IMSA forbid the VG30DETT, cuz it had to much power and therefore Nissan built one with the VH V-8, this can even be found in Wikipedia.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_300ZX#Racing

And no pissing contest needed, just found it interesting that they did put a V-8 in there.

As of recently, I learned not to trust wikipedia as a definitive source for anything, but I did check out the sources listed in the article. It appears you were right, after all.

If it was only used in a racing Z32, I dont think really counts. Maybe for the argument you guys were having, but since the race and street Z32's were so different, I doubt any of those parts would work with our Z's (assuming you could even find them in the first place).

Hi, don't need the parts, just to see how it was built, and see if any of the ideas could be used.
