not sure why you would do that when you could get a ddm kit for $40 and then spend not even an hour doing it yourself. and does the dealership even offer an option to do all that stuff?

I have the factory non-HID lights so I called the dealership close to me and they just won't do it, at all. They guy said that since you have to change the wiring, there's a chance the electronics of the car will get wacky, and they didn't want to be liable for that.

are there any performance shops near you that can do the job??

There are a couple of threads on how bad DDM tuning is...apparently they're selling shoddy kits, raised their prices and have longer delays.

I'm looking at getting low beam and fog HIDs from v-led.com...they're selling the full kit for $59.99

I actually found a place to do it this afternoon in LA. Ended up being about $115 altogether with installation.

way overpriced... for $40 and not even an hour's worth of time you could have done it yourself

Probably so but I really haven't done much fiddling with this car yet. Didn't want to risk screwing something up and then having to pay someone to fix it anyway. However, reading through the forums it seems like the way to go with these projects is to do them yourself. I guess I need to pick a new project and tackle that. Maybe that shiny red GTR ignition button :)

make sure you just look at the DIY writeups, the HIDs were the first mod i personally did to my car, so it wasn't that bad.

Is there a special section here where I can find all the DIY writeups?
