FYI, My sister sent me this today and I thought you may want to know. I would like to know when things like this happen but receive nothing from facebook?


Facebook launched Facebook Places yesterday. Anyone can find out where you are when you are logged in. It gives the actual address & map location of where you are as you use Facebook. Make sure your kids know. Go to"Account", "Account Settings", ....."Notifications", then scroll down to "Places" and ......un-check the 2 boxes. Make sure to SAVE changes and re-post this!!

It's just turning off you getting an email when someone tags you. Like tagging a picture.

In fact, there's a big message in the privacy section...

Here's the link to the Help Center with the directions on how to set your settings. The previous directions were to turn off the Notifications only.

Sorry for any confusion, after looking more in depth these are the steps I took.

1. Account
2. Privacy
3. Customize settings
4. Places I check into -select only me
5. Include me in people here -disable
6. Under " Things others share" Friends can check me into places -disable
