I get a text that says SRS will be in touch with me to up my child support. She tells me she saw a picture of me on facebook from Vegas, and that if I can afford to go on vacation and “fly in planes”, I can afford to pay her more. She later tells me I lied to her about Vegas even though I texted a picture from there and told her when I would arrive in to town Friday morning to pick up the kids.

She kept fixating on Vegas, which confused the heck out of me, because why does it matter if I took a 2 day vacation to Vegas? She didn't care about me going to Dallas last year or STL this summer. It then hit me, I posted pictures of me with my girlfriend, which I didn't do on my other vacations. To top it off, we posed in front of a wedding chapel with a fake ring to freak people out...I guess it wasn't just her mom that freaked out.

So there you have it, had I not posted pics on FB with my girl, I would still have a few dollars in my pocket. :gotme

Your ex seems silly. I mean, you have to make a living, too right?
Depending on your relationship, you should play the same game and be making note of and confirm what she is spending the child support money on and be sure that she's using all of it for the kids and kids associated needs and activities. If you're paying top dollar child support and those kids of yours are eating store brand cereal and not Froot Loops, she'd better be putting the difference in a college account!

Wow, that sucks. She sounds pretty bitter. What you spend your post child support money on should be none of her business. Though I guess there's a lesson for everyone to be extra careful what you put out on social media about yourself. Just curious, does your ex post a lot on-line too? If so, it might make sense to monitor her postings too, anonymously if possible.

I wouldn't think that's any of her business. Like, at all. Isn't child support calculated on income? Also, what a greedy little s***. Not happy with the amount you're already giving her, so she wants more. I hate entitlement. I don't think I've ever wanted to choke someone I've never even seen a picture of. This is new.

To be fair, child support is calculated by incomes and expenses. She can have child support recalculated whenever. We had an agreement that I'd pay X for 2 yrs even though my kid would only be in daycare for one of those years, meaning I'm under paying for one year and then over paying the next to balance it out. However, I think her 10-15k tummy tuck she had Friday may play a part in her wanting more $.
The 10-15k is an estimate based off the quotes we were given while married.

I must be drama or at least attract it. Least common denominator.

It would seem to me that if "Kate Gosselin Jr." forces your hand, that that her spending up to 5 times(?) what you spent for vacation on her own extravagant cosmetic surgery might be enough of a defense to fend off a money grab. Have you spoken to a lawyer?

Do her expenses factor in? Or....? Cause if not, that's s*** and everyone knows it. If she can afford $10-15k, then she has no platform to stand on IMO.

I'm talking to one for other things, but she's not in the wrong to recalculate child support. A person can do it at least once a year or maybe more, I don't know.

Nah, it's all about daycare and medical expenses, health/dental insurance, her income and my income. That's the loophole in the system - if the mom is unemployed because her bf/husband makes enough for the family, the father of the kid(s) pays based on her income and not the household income.

That's not the exact scenario in this case, but her motivation for wanting more money (because I can go on a vacation for a couple days in a plane) was laughable.

At the very least, you can ask for receipts / evidence that the $ is being spent on your kids.

I also pay child support (as Looney knows) and the system has almost no protection for the Father in this state. The mother can have the amount recalculated far more frequently than the father can in a given time period. There is no recourse on the fathers part to prove how or what the money is being spent on. I know for a fact, that my babymomma uses my child support check for the car payment. In the time that I've been paying child support, she's gone out and gotten 2 brand new cars, both of which she has wrecked. She is a TERRIBLE driver. And every time she's having money problems, she calls wanting to know if I'm sending it on time because she needs to make her car payment. Meanwhile, I've NEVER owned a brand new car. I could go on, but you get the point.
