FABRICATORS***- From now on, the fab mart is where you will post you products for sale. Then you can link that thread in your signature, and let everyone on the boards here know its for sale. Again, you ARE a fabricator if you payed a one time fee or sponsored someone on the NICO staff. Thanks guys.

In my personal opinion, I don't like this, I never check that forum.... There is more visibility in the altima forum, if it's an altima mod

It took me so long just to find Doc's kick plate thread when it got moved yesterday

Yup, you don't like it, I don't like it, I'm sure not to many people do like it, but its the way its supposed to be to keep things orderly around here. Think of how flooded the 240 forums would be with advertisements in them Its coming to that here. The A/C forum is one the largest on NICO, and we are going to have to start abiding by NICO's rules as things start to rapidly progress coming into the winter months. There are going to be loads of people on here, and we need to keep the products organized. I'm going to create a sticky at the top of this thread with the links to everything I move in there, so people can find them easily. Thats the only solution I can think of, at the moment, that would appease the NICO staff, businesses, and consumers. If you have any suggestions, email me. Thanks.Blake

Hey Blake/other mods,

Do you think it would be more advantageous to put a Altima Fabricator Mod's or something in the general altima forum area, kinda like the general chat, suspension, engine sections? I feel like some of the people that don't explore NiCo as much as some of us do will never get to see some of the things that people make and that if it was on that main page it would get a lot more exposure without flooding the rest of the forums. Just an idea I guess.

I think that is a good idea, however, with the amount of exposure that a/c fabrications need specifically in this forum, do you think most of you will go look in the general forum for products? I will gladly do that, if people will be advantageous enough to go looking around for things. I just think people are going to come here more often than the general forum.

I would think that people would check the Altima Forum landing area before they would go to the fabricator's section of Nico. I mean, if the products are not going to be in the specific altima forums (ie, altima coupe, 4th gen, etc) it would most likely receive more traffic in the altima landing area that in the fab forums...

Or at least that's what I think - I rarely ever step into the fab forum. Sentient's grounding wires are there, but I got it from inside the altima forum. I would have never really known otherwise...

Perhaps adding a subforum under this section would be a way to provide easier way for people to find it. Single topics for each product, 1 post description with proper links and locked.

I didn't even know a marketplace existed in a seperate forum before reading this post. But thats just my .02

Right, but they can't be advertised in the Altima forums, period. Like I said before, those are the rules of NICO, we are just playing catchup. We also, cannot create a whole new subforum just for altima fabricators.

I like this idea a lot, because I, like many others, don't visit the rest of NICO, only the altima forums.

It takes a redesign of the website to add more subforums, its just not gonna happen guys. Get used to looking up at the sticky for products. That's where they will be going from now on. Sorry.

come on guys, it really isnt to hard to look up in the fab sticky every once in awhile.

Blake is there a problem with a fabricator posting a thread telling people they have been added to fab sticky, as long as they don't try to sell there product on the thread.

No, that's perfectly fine. That's exactly what I am aiming at actually. A fabricator will create the product thread in the fab market forum, email me, I will add it to the products sticky. In the mean time, the fabricator can create a thread stating the product is in that forum. However, all the discussion for that product will be held in the fab market forum. No discussion about it here unless it is a group buy or interest thread. Sound fair to you guys?

Here's the problem guys, and I don't mind being the "bad guy" here:

Due to some companies attempting to use "gauging interest" threads to circumvent the commercial posting rules, we have to step in and do something.

If a company is building something, but don't know if there's gonna be any interest in it, they probably shouldn't be in business anyway. Think about it.

If they're just asking to "gauge interest", there's no need to tell anyone who they are or how to order one. But 99% of the time, there's ordering info, contact info, etc...

The businesses that advertise here are what keeps NICO up and running. I'd prefer not to have to explain to our vendors why they're being undercut by a company who doesn't contribute to the continued existence of the forums.

Bottom line - It's not appropriate to circumvent the rules. If a company wants to "gauge interest", get a product ready for market and invest the time and effort into selling it correctly.

We take good care of our vendors, get them tons of exposure and make them a LOT of money.

But the staff here can't spend all day cleaning up threads from every little company thet springs up wanting to sell stuff to the biggest group of Altima Coupe owners on the web.

Thanks for understanding.
