I susepct that the F50 uses the silicone filled rubber bushings in the steering system. I find it a little too "dead", and not as "tight" and with less feedback than the G50. Does anyone know of bushings that will fit without mods that might be a little stiffer? Not hard poly bushings. I don't want my Q to drive like a truck, just improve the steering feel about 10 to 20% without making it TOO direct and harsh.

I am replacijng the 20" chrome American Racing wheels and Sumitomo tires that were on it when I bought it, with TSW 18x8 chrome "Kyalami" wheels and Bridgestone Potenza RE050A "Pole Position" tires. Not sure if that will exacerbate the situation, or help it, but I'll know soon.

Any suggestions?

Well, you could check the FSM, but I bet the rack is mounted with solid rubber bushings like other Q45.

When it comes to wheels and performance, lightest strongest wheels that meet OEM minimum specifications are best. No spacers or other unsprung dead weight hardware!

You are of course, entirely correct. Problem is that in for example, 18" wheels, the lightest ones are all forged premium type wheels, and expensive. After spending a lot of money for them, they have to be ones that you like too, which narrows the choices down even further. In my own case, even after diligent research, I only found one set that barely fits my already stretched budget, and they cost $350 each. I'd dearly love to have forged BBS wheels, but at almost $800 each for the ones I like, they are just out of my price range, so I have to settle for ones that are admittedly heavy. Such is life.

I would like to explore further replacement of some rubber bushings in the steering system with firmer ones, but I suspect that may entail more modifying than I care to engage in. Insight from others who have investigated this issue is welcome. I know I'm not the only one who wants to bring more feel and directness into an F50 without telegraphing too much road NVH into the wheel when driving.
