After driving the car a few days i figured out exactly what the issue with the accelerator pedal. its apparent that my car (early build) does not have this update done. I am cringing at the idea of having the dealer gouge me for it . Any ideas?

I believe dealers are in the habit of coverng those, even if yoiu are out of warranty.

Were do you live?If you live close to a Nico sponsor dealer we might also be able to get you some extra attention.

The dealer should cover those. If you have an issue, call nissan of north america. They have Goodwill Service agreements for customer loyalty/satisfaction which they won't tell you about..

Call around. The pedal fix is one thing, but there is also a replacement TCM fix, to fix the lag when when floor it. I saw the parts list from my dealer and that was around $800.

First off, get a dealer performed service history so you know where you stand. Register yourself as the owner of the car with Infiniti customer service.

James this only applies to the 2002 Q45 owners... They had a fix for the gas pedal and TCU to eliminate some lag off the line.

Yes its software fix fo the drive-by-wire system making it more responsive.Memebrs that tried it loved it.

TSB's are free dealer fixes.

I once got free new rear speakers as the 3rd or 4th owner of a 92 Q45, when it was 8 years old with 170,000 miles. as part of a TSB.

I think the 02 Q is a Throttle Cable system, not drive by wire. I was surprised about this , but i looked at the Accelerator Pedal TSB it showed it to require an adjustment to the Throttle cable.

2002 Q45 is drive by wire. They promoted this everywhere through the sales books when it first came out. Honestly, because it's something newer, it doesn't mean it's always better.
