Incredible low beams, but high beams leave a lot to be desired.I replaced the high beam bulbs with HIR1 bulbs. They are considerably brighter, but still don't reach as far as I'd like them to. They do light up the sides of the road very well, just don't reach out there. I figured they weren't aimed properly, and weren't converged correctly.

When I took the car in this morning to get the steering system flushed, I asked them to converge the high beams. Technician came out and showed me that there is no horizontal adjustment for headlights at all. Low beams can be adjusted vertically (up or down) through an access hole at the front of the plastic engine shroud, but that's the only adjustment available on F50. He showed me where the high beam adjustment is supposed to be, but there's nothing at the bottom of the access hole in the fender flange. It's blind, with nothing in there.

Thanks to the way the headlights are installed and retained, there is no way to even shim them. One screw in front and one on each side to retain them, but because of the design, shimming won't work. FWIW, the beam dispersion on high beam is too broad, and isn't focused for long range very well, and they seem to be aimed too far apart to reach out far. Plenty of light on the sides of the road, both low and high beams, but not eough concentration where it's needed.

I don't feel like dismantling the entire front end of the car, but maybe some adventurous soul here with an F50, or maybe Q45tech can figure out a way to modify the headlight mounting setup to allow adjustment of high beams in both directions?

It's frustrating to have so much light and not have it reach out far enough to allow higher safe road speeds.

Either way you have to take the front end off to get the lights off. I installed HID in my setup.

First step I would consider is to yank the factory fogs and replace with aftermarket quality HID DRIVING lamps, which will give you the distance you are looking for-height is lower than optimum in this location, but it would be a huge improvement-look at the Piaa line for ideas
