Is it possible to hook up factory navigation unit for F50 Q45 on non-navigation models? If not, is there any aftermarket alternatives instead of just attaching a stand alone unit on the dash? Thanks!

Pioneer AVIC Z3 I think is the current model. You will need an adapter if you keep the Bose speakers and amplifiers.

But how do you fit 2-DIN unit on 2002 Q45(F50)?Is there a room for it on the dash? Wouldn't it look awkward?

BTW, I have Pioneer AVIC-D2 on my 96 Q45t(which already has 2-DIN opening in place for Bose unit).

I would go with the Pioneer F series now that they have the kninks worked out... if the dash would handle it. In the F50 you're kind of out of luck. My guess is that you would have to go back deep into the wiring harness to retrofit it with an OEM nav. deck.

Although expensive, this is a cool idea if you're trying to avoid a suction-cup windshield mounted GPS.

This is why I really love the G50 design in every way. The interior design is not only timeless but also can be easily customized with 2-DIN opening for the in-dash units.I guess I'm really out of luck with my other Q (F50) Would dealer install the factory unit for non-navigation models? How much would it cost?

BTW, what kinds of MP3 options are available for F50 models? Are later models came with MP3 deck and be able to replace the older units? Thanks you!

Hello,Steve the Tech has posted about retrofitting nav in non nav M45's if I remember correctly. That is the Y34 (2003-2004) M's which shared darn near everything with the F50. While not impossible, quite difficult. Another problem is the non nav Q's and M's had a 5.8 inch display while the nav equipped had 7 inch displays. Given how much Q/M prices have plummeted, it would truly be cost effective to trade in yours for one so equipped. Will also gain Intelligent Cruise Control (guided cruise).

Most of us here call it Truly Dumb Cruise Control because it uses LIDAR frequencies and thus promulgates many false alarms.

I LIKE the Smart Mirror! Wonder how long until an ebay knockoff shows up for $300.
