Let me start off by saying if you dont want to read this just scroll down and see the pics. its pretty long. also im writing this review because i havent found many f1spec reviews on the internet anywhere. it may not be the best but i will try.

When i bought my car almost a year ago it had some pretty nice knockoff seats in it. they were nice. but they were pretty big...very comfortable but they didnt hold me great. then i came across the knockoff brides. wanted them but knew i would feel shameful knowing im ripping off the legit bride company. then i came across f1spec. same looking seat but without any fake badges. so i sold my old seats for 225. and then had my parents throw in $100 for my birthday(yesterday)present so they got me these seats.

Looks: the seats look fantastic. the materials maybe a little cheap. but not near as bad as i expected. the red is a nice red. hopefully it will stay that way and not fade. im not too concerned about it ripping because im extremely careful getting in and out and i check to see if i have keys, or anything in my pockets. also no studded belts.

Communication: contacting f1spec was a journey. i email them multiple times and Ming (distributer) and got no responses. i was really fustrated. then he finally responding to my post on s2ki.com. after that it was fine. but it took a good 3 weeks to get a hold of anyone. Ming was very nice though. he let me know all the updates and game me a special price as youll see

Price: if you buy them on f1spec's site theyre $400 plus $200 for side mounts and sliders. if you ordered off a site ming was advertising on you got free mounts and sliders. so obviously i did that. i wanted the type 4's, ($350) theyre very simmiliar except have wider shoulder restraints and have more of a square top. ming told me they were out of those after i ordered so he said i could have the type 5's for the same price which are originally 400. I know these are no real brides but they seem like great seats for the price.

Construction. the fiberglass seems to be pretty strong. i threw myself back and forth and there wasnt much flex. im going to keep this part mainly blank because i havent driven the car yet. its in storage right now in my grandpas garage. i will say that the side mounts seemed pretty cheap. they were more of a plastic then a metal. also they put one different sized bolt in. so 3 of the bolts are like 12mm and ones a 13. the other seats fine so i know it was a mistake. not horrible just a pain in the a** because i have to use 2 sockets.

Adjustibility: theres a ton of ways to adjust the seat. very universal. the sliders are nice too. i did read that in hard braking one side of the seat can pull forward because its only latched in on one side of the slider. the other side just slides around. i believe they fixed that problem because mine are different though.

Feeling: these things are very tight. i just turned 16 and im 145 pounds and im 5,11". 30" or 31" inch waist. the butt area is comfortable but the sides keep your legs very straight causing my legs to rub against the steering wheel sometimes. i like my steering wheel very low. this might be the same as in every racing seat though. idk. also the shoulder things are very close together. it feels very akward if you dont have your hands on the wheel and shift knob. if your a passanger you have to cross your arms or its very uncomfortable. i wouldnt recommend these to anyone bigger than me. especially in waist. they say they fit up to 36". but trust me thats bull. also if you have very broad shoulders i would get the type 4"s.

overall they seem to be pretty nice seats. for the money i havent seen any better. ill def keep this thread updated about how they're holding up. the previous owner made custom brackets for the old seats and made one lower than the other. so my passanger seats is lower then my drivers. hopefully soon i can bring them to a welding shop and have them remade and make them even lower. pics:old seats:the new: f1spec type 5'ssorry for the crappy quality pictures. im just using a little digital camera.

That interior looks f*cking awesome. Now, if only you'll lower your car another 3 inches.

nice nice your car dont even need to be slammed it just needs to be lowered enough to get rid of that ugly wheel gap you got. keep up the good work your car keeps getting better and better.

Sweet review, i've actually been looking at those seats.

Hey question.

Your vent gauge pod. The part that sticks out and holds the gauge, where did you buy that at? I've been looking..

5'11, bottom mount seat rails with sliders to side mount brackets. How far is your head from the roof?

if you search on google, autometer angled rings you can find those. theyre like $15 shipped. however my prosport gauge came with one of those visors to block the glare of the sun. well i just flipped it around. it works perfect!

theres 5 inches from the top of the seat and 4 from the top of my head. passangers 6 from the seat and 5 from the head because of the lower bracket. im sure you could lower the brackets another inch or so also if you really wanted too.

Ditto, I've always wondered how you use stock seat belts with bucket seats.

If you have manual seatbelts just unbolt the belt from where it bolts next to the seat, put it through the belt slot in the seat, then re-bolt it back to the car. I just ordered a type 5 seat myself, it was $310 for one seat and rails. I'm looking forward to it.
