F1 flywheels any good?? Has anyone used these before?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

Just got a ACT extreme kit today...only "downside" is it didn't come with a lighter flywheel...Has anyone tried the F1 flywheels? It's an Ebay flywheel that wieghs in at 11.5lbs...Is it worth me buying? I'm a little tight on cash...any help would be great!

People claim that these flywheels are good. Easyeye did a write up on it. The flywheel weighs roughly 14LB.s. A Fidanza is a true 11lb.s.Now I've never used the F1 flywheel, and the only beef I have with it is that the friction plate surface is made of chromoly and is a tad softer than the surface found on OEM or fidanza's.

Fidanza uses 1045Carbon steel for it's friction plate.F1's use 4140 chromoly steel for its friction plate.the softer chromoly could cause more wear and tear to the clutch than the fidanza would. Overall there are no complaints with the chromoly though.

More than likely yes, especially since your using a high quality clutch. The F1 flywheel already comes balanced so it's ready to install.
